Jessica Borne

Jessica joined Fort, Holloway & Rogers after 12+ years with the Tennessee Office of the District Attorney General- 21st Judicial District, serving Williamson, Lewis, Hickman, and Perry Counties. While she prosecuted an extensive range of criminal offenses, Jessica dedicated the last 10 years of her career working with domestic abuse victims and their families by prosecuting criminal cases involving domestic partners. For the majority of Jessica’s career as a prosecutor, she served as the Domestic Violence Prosecutor, providing her with the ability to gain years of experience in the court system. Jessica has prosecuted and litigated a wide range of criminal domestic cases including domestic assault, aggravated assault, sexual assaults, stalking, harassment, violation of order of protection, kidnapping and murder in both General Sessions Court as well as Circuit Court.

Additionally, Jessica has volunteered in our community to bring more advocacy and education to domestic abuse such as working with Bridges Domestic Violence Shelter to conduct various trainings with community agencies to bring awareness to domestic violence issues. Also, she has administered countless law enforcement trainings and continues to do so. Throughout her career, Jessica has served on the Veteran’s Treatment Court Team, Sexual Assault Response Team, Domestic Violence Task Force, and headed a Domestic Violence Community Coordinated Response Team while in her tenure with the District Attorney’s Office. Currently, Jessica serves on the Board for the Davis House Child Advocacy Center as well as Bridges Domestic Violence Shelter.

What makes Jessica unique from other family law attorneys is that she has encountered and handled countless cases involving mental health issues during her career as a prosecutor. She is a fierce advocate for domestic abuse victims and their families, which has allowed her to foster a solid transition with her practice into the civil domestic world. Jessica knows all too well that abuse can take on many forms including, physical, emotional, and psychological. It’s her intention to focus her civil practice to continue to devotedly serve the community in civil cases involving domestic issues such as divorce, post-divorce, child support, custody, wills, and orders of protection.

Jessica is a native of Atlanta, Georgia but moved to Tennessee in 2001 to attend college at Middle Tennessee State University while also playing collegiate soccer for her school. Prior to attending law school at Nashville School of Law, Jessica obtained both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Criminal Justice degree. Jessica completed her master’s thesis on the Evolution of Child Sexual Abuse Laws in Tennessee. Jessica also served as an adjunct professor for Middle Tennessee State University from 2007-2017.

Jessica lives in Franklin with her husband and three children. In her free time, she can be found with her family and enjoying outdoor activities, running, and coaching youth soccer.
